Our Market, Today!


Today, this very day...the Clackamas County Real Estate market in Oregon is busy. There are many "indicators" of how different people will glean their information. As a Real Estate Professional, one way I look at it is from actual "house showing" activity. I do this because it is "current", right now. Numbers of showings now, create the closings that you read about in the papers at the "end of the quarter". (another reason to hire a professional...newspaper "numbers" are old!)

There was question whether the market would get it's typical "flurry" of activity in Mid August as we normally do as peoples vacations end and the beginning of school nears. Well, we are in the middle of that flurry right now!! Showings on my personal listings are way up. Here is the surprising item. It is not only NEW listings getting showings! Across the board in Clackamas county, various cities...showings are now UP! Example. Yesterday, I was out visiting my horse (photo below) and for the first time since the start of our economic challenges, I had to walk 10 feet, answer the phone to schedule a showing. Walk 10 feet, answer the phone. Walk 10 feet, answer the phone. All showings, various listings, various locations. Not just "one hot house." THIS... is a good thing.
